Writing/ESL Resources
The Student Academic Success Center offers a variety of assistance to UCDavis students for writing across the curriculum. Our workshops offer strategies and reviews of the writing process from prewriting through revision for both in-class and out-of-class essays.
Our writing specialists and tutors also work individually with students on writing assignments for any course offered by UCDavis. In your writing appointment, we can help you understand the assignment or prompt and offer strategies for brainstorming, prewriting, organizing, developing, and revising your essay or term paper.
You may use SASC Writing Services at any point in your writing process, but we can help you most effectively if you allow ample time to follow up on our feedback and revise your work well before the due date.

Workshops
Offerings for workshops change each quarter. Workshops are offered for all writing students, Analytical Writing Placement preparations, and upper division students. Additionally workshops are offered for all ESL students, and specifically for upper division and transfer ESL students.

Appointments
Same day appointments with Writing Specialists can be made on the same-day clip board, located at 2205 Dutton Hall's front desk area. Spots fill up quickly, especially toward the end of the quarter.
Advanced appointments can also be made by stopping by 2205 Dutton Hall or calling the Student Academic Success Center at 530.752.2013
Drop-In Tutoring
Writing drop-in tutoring is also available for students who need assistance with any writing assignment. Tutors will assist students with paragraph development, punctuation, and grammar.
- Located in 2211 Dutton Hall
- You must bring a paper draft for any drop-in writing tutoring session. Sorry, we cannot read drafts on laptop screens.
